Summary : Pulmonary embolism common results from blood clots in the venous system which lodge in and block a pulmonary blood vessel. Typical presenting features include chest pain, palpitations, breathing difficulties and heamoptysis. It is a common and potentially fatal condition. Timely diagnosis and treatment can significantly reduce morbidity rates and Healthcare provider need to be aware of the risk factors associated with the condition to identify high-risk patients.

RumusanEmboli pulmonari biasa berlaku dari pembekuan darah di sistem vena yang masuk dan menyekat saluran darah paru-paru. Ciri-ciri klinikal khas termasuk sakit dada, berdebar-debar, kesukaran bernafas dan heamoptysis. Ia adalah keadaan biasa dan berpotensi membawa maut. Diagnosis dan rawatan tepat pada masanya dapat mengurangkan kadar morbiditi dengan ketara dan penyedia perkhidmatan Kesihatan perlu mengetahui faktor risiko yang berkaitan dengan keadaan untuk mengenal pasti pesakit berisiko tinggi.
